The Indian state of Haryana has 22 districts, with the inclusion of Jind district. The district headquarters are traceable to Jind town, which is the largest and oldest city of the state. Youngsters residing within and around Jind district can enrol for training at the Industrial Training Institute, Jind, Haryana. The official website of Jind ITI is https://itijind.org.in/.
With the introduction of the Craftsmen Scheme during the 1950s, the Government of India approved the setting up of vocational training centers across the different Indian states. The Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) function as per the Government directives and the Industrial Training Centers (ITCs) are privately owned.
After gaining vocational training, the aspirants can apply for jobs in the chosen trades with varied organizations. Moreover, the technical training institutes ensure an employee base for companies requiring skilled and non-skilled personnel.
At the ITIs and ITCs, the aspiring candidates have a choice in engineering and non-engineering trades. Also, they can pursue trades under two categories: National Council of Vocational Training (NCVT) and State Council of Vocational Training. Working at the national level, the NCVT drafts the guidelines for managing the technical training centers. In turn, the SCVT functions at the state level for implementing the NCVT guidelines.
The NCVT trade courses lead to NCVT certifications; and the SCVT programs, to SCVT certificates. The certificates make them eligible to apply for jobs at NCVT or SCVT levels accordingly.
At the Jind ITI, the authorities offer a range of courses in different trades. These include Carpenter, Machinist, Painter, Mechanic, Draughtsman, among others. The trade programs include a 1-year Apprenticeship program as well. In the process, they gain experience of working in companies and in the process, can earn their livelihood.
