Faridabad city is traceable within the Indian state of Haryana and is the most populous one. Aspirants who want to work in vocational trades and hail from adjoining areas of Faridabad can apply to the Industrial Training Institute of Faridabad. The Government manages the Industrial training institutes (ITIs) and private agencies run the Industrial Training Centers (ITCs).
The Government of India decided to set up ITIs and ITCs during the 1950s and adopted the Craftsmen Scheme. Under this program, the technical training centers were constituted. Also, these vocational training centers are referred to as post-secondary schools. They give aspiring candidates, who want to gain technical know-how, the option of specializing in an array of engineering and non-engineering trades.
The vocational trades have durations ranging from 6 months up to 2 years.
The different trades are grouped under the National Council of Vocational Training or NCVT and State Council of Vocational Training or SCVT ones.
The NCVT serves as a national-level advisory body and issues directives on how the technical training programs are to be conducted. The SCVT works as per the NCVT instructions and implements the protocols at the state level.
Under NCVT trades, the pupils receive NCVT certificates upon completion of the vocational training courses. For SCVT trades, the students receive SCVT certificates after they complete the courses.
Apprenticeship training constitutes the technical training courses and runs for 1 year in industries requiring semi-skilled or skilled workers in the stipulated trades.
Also, the technical training centers offer a host of educational resources. Students can avail library services for reference material such as books and magazines. Also, they are provided with internet connectivity, cafeteria services, among other amenities.
In vocational trades, the aspirants can select from trades such as Welding, Electrician, Fitter, Mechanic, Machinist, among others.
