Jhajjar district of the Haryana state in India was formed after splitting from Rohtak district during the year 1997. Jhajjar city comes under the Jhajjar district of Haryana and houses the Government Industrial Training Institute, having started operations in the year 2010. The Jhajjjat ITI offers courses in a host of trades. These include Wireman, Fitter, Plumber, Electrician, Carpenter, Draftsman, Mechanic, Plumber, Sewing Technology, among others.
For the aspirants to be proficient in the specialized trades, they have to attend the 1-year Apprenticeship training program as well.
The Government of India approved the Craftsmen Scheme during the 1950s for catering to the skilled and semi-skilled manpower requirements of companies. Both the Industrial training institutes (ITIs) and Industrial Training Centers (ITCs) are part of this Scheme.
Under trade programs, aspiring candidates can choose among engineering and non-engineering trades that last for 1 year or 2 years. Also, they vary in eligibility, inviting only eligible candidates to apply. As per the eligibility criteria of the trade programs, the applicant should pass the 8th class or 10th class or 12th class.
Both the National Council of Vocational Training (NCVT) and the State Council of Vocational Training (SCVT) conduct trade courses. The NCVT operates on a country-wide scale; and SCVT, on a state-wide one. Owing to whether the candidate completes the NCVT or SCVT trades, they receive NCVT or SCVT certificates after course and training completion.
The Jhajjar ITI spans over 6 acres of land while offering several an array of resources to facilitate learning. Smart classrooms, playgrounds, computer laboratories – all are available on the campus. Besides, the faculty members engage the students in studies along with co-curricular activities for their holistic development to ensue.
