Panchkula city is traced to the Panchkula district of the Indian Haryana state and is a planned city. The term ‘Panchkula’ originates from the meeting place of the five irrigation canals. Panchkula constitutes part of the neighboring areas of Zirakpur, Mohali, and Chandigarh. The Government Industrial Institute of Panchkula started offering vocational courses in the year 2009. Candidates hailing from adjoining areas of Panchkula can avail vocational education if they do not want to pursue conventional studies further. The institute provides courses in a variety of trades. Aspiring candidates can apply for specializing in trades such as Surface Ornamentation, Sewing Technology, Plumber, Electrician, Stenographer, Catering & Hospitality Assistant, among others.
Besides, the center boasts of modern infrastructural resources for offering a holistic educational experience to the pupils. Fully-equipped laboratories, smart classrooms, lush green gardens, and playgrounds – all are provided at the Panchkula hub.
Further, the center has well-qualified and committed faculty members. They guide the students to hone their technical skills in the chosen trades.
The institute also offers assistance to the pupils when availing the 1-year Apprenticeship training program. The students who have appeared in the ITI final exam can undergo Apprenticeship training for gaining experience in varied industries. They get stipend on a monthly basis for the duration of the training period.
