Rewari city is traced to the Rewari district of the Haryana state in India. The Government Industrial Training Institute at Rewari has been set up to provide training in technical fields for aspiring candidates hailing from the adjoining areas of the Rewari district. Candidates can enrol for vocational training after completing Class X. The official website of the Rewari ITI is https://www.itirewari.org/index.php.
The Government of India approved the Craftsmen Scheme during the 1950s for ensuring a steady flow of technical personnel in industries. Under the Scheme, the different Indian states received approval for constituting the Industrial Training Institutes or ITIs (government-run) and Industrial Training Centers or ITCs (privately-managed)
Under vocational training, the pupils develop skills for performing jobs of different operators or craftsmen. The ITI programs are devised for honing the students’ basic skills in the chosen trades. Going by the courses that the candidate opts for, the course duration varies from 1 year to 3 years. Also, after the students complete the ITI courses, they have to enrol for practical training.
The Rewari ITI offers courses in several trades. These include Electrician, Sheet Metal Worker, Plumber, Fitter, Painter, Mechanic (Motor Vehicle), Machinist, Stenography, Welder, Wireman, among others.
The trades come under either NCVT or SCVT category. The National Council of Vocational Training or NCVT trades make them eligible for national-level jobs; and the State Council of Vocational Training or SCVT, for state-level employment opportunities.
Also, a host of modern infrastructural resources are available to the pupils at the Rewari Government ITI. The center has a library, laboratories, among other facilities. Besides, the students can avail Apprenticeship and employment opportunities by approaching the Placement Cell on campus.
More so, the pupils receive training in both hard skills and soft skills for developing a professional attitude that helps them to excel in their selected trades.
