In Madina village of the Rohtak district of Haryana (a state towards the northern part of India), the Government Industrial Training Institute has been set up. The Rohtak ITI conducts a series of skill development courses to aspirants who want to gain technical know-how. They can enrol for vocational training after passing Class 10th or 12th. In India, the Government controls the Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs); and private agencies, the Industrial Training Centers (ITCs). With the objective of catering to the industries’ requirements of skilled and semi-skilled workers, the Government passed the Craftsmen Scheme during the 1950s. The Rohtak ITI convenes courses in various trades. These include Welder, Electrician, Fitter, Machinist, Turner, among others.
Similar to other ITIs and ITCs in India, the Rohtak ITI conducts classroom training and practical training sessions as part of vocational training. Also, workshops are conducted where the student learn about the use of various tools and equipment, depending on the trades that they have opted for.
Further, the vocational training center is equipped with a host of modern facilities for enhancing the educational experience of the pupils. The institute has spacious and well-ventilated classrooms. Besides, the faculty members are qualified and experienced in their field of study. They work to develop an industrial and technical aptitude in the pupils, so they grow to become professionals in their chosen streams.
Also, the trade courses are inclusive of 1-year Apprenticeship programs for offering students to avail opportunities to work in the specified trades in varied industries. After the pupils complete the trade programs, they obtain certifications and, then, can apply for jobs for earning their livelihood and improving their standard of living.
